    PUMPKIN DIP RECIPE

You made this fluffy pumpkin dip for Halloween, decorated with sugar-free Halloween candies. Something easy and quick so you can spend most of your time trick or treating with your kids.

But you can decorate it for Fall by sprinkling some pumpkin spice on top or a few leaf sprinkles.

It calls for 5 ingredients: 100% pumpkin puree, pumpkin pie spice, Swerve confectioners sugar substitute (or other of your choice), sugar-free cool whip, and cream cheese.

It's one of many Easy 5-Ingredient or Less Recipes you'll find here.

You can choose whatever you want to garnish the top of your low-carb dip!

As for dippers, sliced fruits such as apples or pears, and cookies (keto, digestive biscuits, Biscoff, Oreos, or others of your choice) make the perfect complement to this pumpkin cheesecake dip!

As you can see, it is an easy recipe everyone loves!

Why Make Pumpkin Dip with Cool Whip

There are several reasons to make this pumpkin dip:

    • Quick and easy to make in 5 minutes.
    • It calls for 5 ingredients.
    • Keto, sugar-free, and gluten-free!
    • It tastes like a no-bake pumpkin cheesecake without a crust.
    • It is creamy, fluffy, and quite delish!
    • Pumpkin is loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, and has so many health benefits.
    • Perfect dessert dip to bring to Halloween parties, Thanksgiving gatherings, or Friendsgiving feasts, or to serve as a quick Autumn snack.
    • It has all the Fall flavors minus the baking and the mess. 🙂

    Ingredients and Substitutions

You will need 5 ingredients to make this easy pumpkin dip:

    • 8 ounces of cream cheese
    • 1 cup Swerve confectioners sugar substitute (or other confectioners sugar substitute, or even powdered sugar if you are not on a sugar-free diet)
    • ⅔ cup canned 100% pumpkin puree (NOT pumpkin pie filling. But if you want to use it, reduce spices and the amount of sweetener)
    • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
    • 1 cup cool whip (or Greek yogurt for a healthy substitute but it won't be as fluffy and you'll have to beat in the mixer instead of folding it)

    How to Soften Cream Cheese

To use cream cheese in this pumpkin dip, you have to soften it first by simply taking it out of the fridge for 30 minutes before making our recipe.

Difference between Pumpkin Pie FIlling and Pumpkin Puree

Pumpkin pie filling is made of cooked, mashed pumpkin, spices, and sugar. On the other hand, pumpkin puree only contains cooked, mashed pumpkins.

CAN I USE PUMPKIN PIE FILLING?

If you are not on a keto diet, you can use it but decrease the amount of sweetener used in the recipe as well as spice. Be aware the pumpkin flavor won't be as concentrated.

    Best Dippers

    Here are a few:

    • Fruits: Pear and apple slices, banana rounds, berries, or other fresh fruit.
    • Cookies: Keto cookies, or gingersnaps, wafer cookies, graham crackers, Oreos, and Biscoff.
    • Savory Dippers: Pretzels and potato chips.

Or you can enjoy it by the spoonful! 🙂

Tips for Making Pumpkin Pie Dip

    • Use canned pumpkin puree which has neither sugar nor spices added, unlike pumpkin pie filling. It is pure pumpkin, cooked and mashed.  If you would like to make your own, find out how to peel a pumpkin and cook it from scratch to make a homemade pumpkin puree.
    • If you don't have cream cheese, you can use requeijão or mascarpone. You may need to decrease the amount added because these cheese spreads have a softer texture.
    • To make a healthy pumpkin dip, replace cool whip with plain Greek yogurt. But do not fold it -- instead, beat it with the cream cheese and sweetener. The dip will be creamier but not as fluffy.
    • Avoid using any granulated sweetener because it won't dissolve as easily as confectioner's sugar or sugar substitute.
    • You may add ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract or ground ginger to this recipe to make it even more flavorful!
    • Choose any toppings you want as well as dippers.

    How to Store

Transfer any pumpkin dip leftovers to an airtight container and keep it in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.

Can I freeze this keto dip?

I don't recommend freezing it because it will change the texture after thawing and won't be as creamy as when it's fresh.
